When someone told me I could see several movies a month at nearly any movie theater in the country for just $9.95 a month, my first instinct was, what's the catch — this deal sounds way too good to be true.

After looking into how MoviePass works, I'm now wondering: why would anyone not sign up for this service?

If you're like me, you have your regular rotation of restaurants you order from weekly. I usually order from Seamless because more restaurants use their platform. However, when Delivery.com offers any type of discount, I'm easily swayed to order using them instead. 

One day, when I was ordering from one of my go-to Chinese restaurants on Delivery.com, I noticed something weird. The total price, before the promotional discount, seemed much less than what I pay on Seamless. At first, I thought I was just misremembering. After firing up a Seamless session, I added the identical food items into my cart and noticed this restaurant had different prices on Seamless and Delivery.com. Hold the phone. 

In my early years as a New Yorker, I had a huge issue keeping track of all of the different restaurants I had been to - where I had eaten, where I'd like to go again, and where I didn't like so much. 

This really frustrated me because every time I wanted to return to a good restaurant, I had no idea where it was or the name of the restaurant. I also started feeling embarrassed because my out-of-town friends would visit the city and ask me for restaurant recommendations, and I was usually speechless...because I couldn't remember.

I had lived in NYC for two years at that point, but to the outside world and sometimes myself, it didn't seem like I knew anything about the city.
